Philip C. Amaru

As an elder law attorney, Philip C. Amaru concentrates on senior issues, in particular those involving Medicare and Medicaid. He is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys.

Along with Executive Director Laureen Vaughn, Philip founded Commonwealth Advisory Group in 1992 to assist elders and their families seeking to preserve their assets when faced with nursing home care. Since then, Commonwealth Advisory Group has helped more than 1,500 clients preserve their assets.

As a team, Phil and Laureen have provided seminars to AARP, MS Society, Parkinsons Support Groups, Better Breathers Support Groups, numerous senior centers, hospitals, elder agencies and businesses throughout Massachusetts. In addition, they have served as expert speakers at the WBZ Personal Financial Seminar.
